Serving our Students and our Regional Economy

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics educates a richly diverse scientific workforce and fosters scientific and mathematical literacy in the greater community. Our degree programs, research opportunities, internships and strong student support programs prepare graduates to achieve lifetime career success, contribute to knowledge and help solve societal problems. Our faculty, students and graduates promote regional progress through professional activity and community collaboration.

Every gift can help us do remarkable things.

A gift of ...
• $10 helps fund undergraduate students in the research fellows program, a developing curriculum by the college.
• $20 enables geology students a chance to explore the Sierra Mountains and gather samples that are related to their program.
• $50 provides students in the biology department with lab materials to take samples to analyze the American River ecosystem.

If 100 Hornets gave…
• $100, creates more study spaces in Sequoia Hall, known as the Commit to Study initiative.
• $250, would support the Peer Leadership Academy, which supports the success of all students through advising, outreach, tutoring and mentoring.

Message from the Dean, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

There has never been a more exciting time in science and math. Today's students studying in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will help fulfill the promise of the human genome project, clean energy technologies and other scientific breakthroughs that will improve the quality of life in our region and beyond. We take great pride in the fact that our students get to know professors while studying a hands-on curriculum with practical application to real world problems. Our priorities are clear:
• Preparing Students for a Future of Opportunity
• Advancing Scientific Knowledge
• Partnering for Regional Progress

As a top University priority, a new Science Complex will be added to the campus landscape in fall 2019. I am thrilled to announce the launch of an initiative to raise funds to equip the new building. With over three-quarters of the $91 million needed coming from the CSU system to fund the Science Complex, Sacramento State is welcoming gifts and pledges to support this effort.

Our academic programs have always been top notch, but now we will have the new facilities to match. And for alumni, as our academic reputation grows, so does the value of your own degree.

Thank you for your consideration. We are truly grateful for the support of our alumni, friends, parents and corporate partners.

And, if one person gave ...

• $1,500, they would get their name on the donor wall in the new Science Complex, set to open in fall 2019.

Make your Giving Tuesday gift today and help these remarkable things become a reality.

For more information about giving to the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, please contact Shari Kawelo, Director of Development at shari.kawelo@csus.edu or (916) 278-6288. Giving Tuesday is Nov 29, but your support is always appreciated. Give online anytime at csus.edu/giving.
