Sacramento State is the hub for many community activities, yet the campus lacks an indoor modular seating arena to accommodate lectures or ceremonies, sporting events and competitions, concerts and other large-attendance gatherings. Sacramento State’s Strategic and Master Plans call for a thoughtful solution: the construction of an Event Center, a central campus arena that will serve as a hub for athletic, entertainment and academic activities. To catalyze the process to seek approval for the project from the California State University, dedicated funds must be committed in support of the facility.

The Power of 1,000 Hornets is a crowdfunding campaign to raise more than $1 million from 1,000 dedicated Sacramento State Event Center.
What:
The proposed Event Center will be a modern, multi-use facility that will increase programming and services for activities such as job fairs, speaker presentations, Commencement ceremonies, featured athletics events, competitions, educational sessions and entertainment such as concerts or performing arts. In addition to the programming benefits, this signature venue will increase the University’s connection with the greater Sacramento community, and increase student employment opportunities on campus.
The Event Center is a Sacramento State priority that needs support from multiple stakeholders—alumni, donors, faculty and staff, students, and community and corporate partners. In the event the funds raised through The Power of 1,000 Hornets aren’t required to fund the facility, the gifts will be redirected to enhance and expand Athletics facilities and programs.
Who:
