Donations are applied to...
Our much-appreciated donations are used to purchase Christmas gifts and Thanksgiving meals for impoverished families in the South Bend community. Last year, it cost approximately $700 to meet the full Christmastime needs of each family we adopted. We were able to adopt 20 families at Christmas and ten at Thanksgiving in our founding year, but aspire to expand our operation in the coming semester. A successful ND day will go a long way toward the achievement of our goal!
Adopt-A-Family Christmas Initiative
The purpose of the Adopt-A-Family Christmas Initiative is to build relationships with impoverished families in South Bend throughout the year and purchase/deliver Christmas presents and groceries to said families.
Why are donations necessary?
In its founding year, the Adopt-A-Family Christmas Initiative raised $6,000 and was able to purchase presents for 8 families. This year, as a club, AFCI raised a total of $20,000 through its fundraising campaigns. Our generous donors allowed us to provide Thanksgiving meals for 10 families and Christmas presents for 20 families! Our goal for next year is to bring Christmas to 30 South Bend families. Vote for us, and help us achieve our goal!
