Description

The American Medical Women's Association is an organization which functions at the local, national, and international level to advance women in medicine and improve women's health. AMWA achieves this by providing and developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise, mentoring, and strategic alliances. As an undergraduate organization, we provide medical volunteer opportunities for our members at Memorial Hospital, fundraise for AMWA and their partner organizations, such as Child Family Health International. Our seniors serve as mentors to the underclassmen and provide advice on classes & activities at Notre Dame and applying to medical school.

Donations are applied to...

Donations provide us funds to host more speakers who can inspire our members to become strong, independent women in the healthcare field. We also use donations to host more volunteer opportunities for our members to gain clinical experience. Volunteer opportunities are life-changing and so stimulating and motivating to use a medical career as a force for good. There is also an annual AMWA conference that we would like as many officers to attend as possible. It was in Miami this past year, and will be in San Francisco next year. These conferences give our chapter inspiration and ideas to bring back to our own campus. Please help us attend!

Personal Message

AMWA is such a great support system for pre-health women. It allows pre-health underclassmen to come together, support each other, and provide opportunities for each other to succeed and use her medical career as a force for change.

Why are donations necessary?

The school has a limited budget for student clubs. As a relatively new organization (only 3 years old!), it can be hard to receive funding and provide opportunities to our members.
