The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. As a chapter, we host multiple blood drives every semester. In addition, we host bone marrow registry drives. We also host fundraisers to provide disaster relief. We campaign in South Bend and install smoke detectors for free alongside the fire department. We have a soldier overseas we are partnered with that we email, write letters to, and send care packages to. In addition, on every major holiday, we write hundreds of cards for soldiers overseas. We also host Vaccinate a Village to provide the MMR vaccine to underserved children. The list goes on and on, and we truly make a difference in the South Bend community and around the world!
Donations are used to send more packages to soldier overseas, provide incentives for people to donate blood and register for the bone marrow. We also use donations to host events to raise awareness about global health issues and American Red Cross's mission. Donations also allow us to be more involved in the South Bend community and host events to increase emergency preparedness.
The school has a limited budget for student clubs, and donations can help us make even more of a difference in the world!
