The Kenneth Ho Sung Kwak Scholarship for Asian Studies is awarded annually to an undergraduate student, regardless of race or ethnicity, who has demonstrated excellence in Asian Studies. Kenneth H. S. Kwak (’62) was a founding member of the Asian Pacific Alumni of Notre Dame and was its chairman from 2001 to 2004. He passed away on September 15, 2005, and was posthumously named a Distinguished Alumnus of Notre Dame, only the tenth Domer to have received that distinction. To honor him, the APA of ND established an annual scholarship in his name.

Asian Pacific Alumni of Notre Dame- Ken Kwak

Asian Pacific Alumni (APA) of ND is a sub-group of the Notre Dame Alumni Association dedicated to serving the University of Notre Dame and her alumni, students and faculty through the support and recognition of the Asian Pacific heritage in the U.S. Since its initial meeting in October 1995, the APA of ND has initiated programs and sponsored events in keeping with its goal of increasing involvement by the Asian Pacific community in Notre Dame.

Why are donations necessary?

As we grow the endowment for the Ken Kwak scholarship, we increase the amount we can give to students each year. Your generosity helps a student in Asian Studies continue their Notre Dame Experience.
