Ballet Folklorico Azul y Oro

Ballet Folklorico Azul y Oro (commonly known as BFAYO) is proud to be the only Latin American dance company at the University of Notre Dame. We have annual performances for Dia de los Muertos and the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Fall. In the Spring we perform in Welsh Family Hall's Dance Fest, Latin Expressions, and the PFresh Show. We mostly perform folk dances from Mexico, but we are looking to expand into dance from other parts of Latin America, as well as contemporary dance.

Donations are applied to...

buying new shoes for incoming members, new dresses, shirts, and pants from different regions of Mexico and Latin America to expand our dance repertoire. Authentic, high quality vestments and accessories are expensive and it would be difficult for us to afford them with only the funds we receive from the school.

Why are donations necessary?

Our club receives limited funds each year, and the ND Day funds are a huge help. This year we covered the cost of buying all of our new members new folklorico shoes. The shoes come all the way from Mexico and go for at least $50 a pair.
