Donations are applied to...

Your donations are essential for us to hire our instructors and ensure our ability to perform at campus and community functions for no charge from the spectators. Furthermore, your donations allow us to host the Irish Dancesport Gala which brings hundreds of college students from other universities to campus to compete and many spectators from the campus and the community to watch. Without your participation, this would not be possible. During this exciting time, we have the unique opportunity to earn a portion of a $1 Million! Make a $10 gift on Notre Dame Day (April 23 – 24), and receive 5 votes to cast. The total number of votes we receive decides our percentage of the $1 Million. Please vote for us!

Ballroom Dance Club, Notre Dame/Saint Mary’s

Ballroom dance... two little words that evoke so many different emotions in so many. For some they evoke fear, for others envy, and some take no interest at all. However, our members are proof that there is more to ballroom dance than may appear at first glance. We are a multicultural family representing over 10 different nationalities, studying a wide range of majors, and spanning about a decade in ages. We welcome any new member and help them discover the thrill of dance. Ballroom dancing teaches our dancers more than just dance skills. It teaches respect as well as partnership and teamwork. Teaching us to appreciate the abilities of the human body, dance also provides us with the platform for honing our problem solving skills. Our performance will be part of the Notre Dame Day LIVE broadcast, and we cannot wait to share our love for dance with you!

Why are donations necessary?

Each year we hire three professional instructors to teach throughout the year. We also attend collegiate ballroom competitions across the Midwest where we represent the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College. Finally, we host an annual collegiate ballroom competition, the Irish Dancesport Gala, on campus each April. This past year we had the honor to host over 300 competitors from over 10 different states and over 15 different colleges. This was our largest competition to date and one of the largest across the region this year. Hosting IDG, travelling to other competitions, and hiring professional dance instructors is an expensive luxury. It is our goal to make this club available to all who want to take part in it; therefore, we do our best to minimize our dues. However, this leaves us in great need of your donations. We love spreading the joy of dance across the campus, community, and the Midwest, and we ask that you help us in our quest to do so!
