The Anthropology Department sponsors a very active social media network on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube that provides lively discussions about race, gender, primates, genetics, evolution, human biology, and archaeology. These are areas of understanding vital to an educated public. Our membership spans 52 countries, with some of the top scholars in the field regularly discussing their latest fossil finds, discoveries about ancient civilizations, primate behavior research, etc. We are seeking funds to expand our social media presence to venues used by high school students. This will require coordinating an advisory panel of K-12 educators from around the country to develop learning modules. Why are donations necessary?
We want to expand our social media presence to venues used by high school students (Tumblr, Instagram, etc). To do so, we want to pull together an advisory panel of K-12 educators from around the country to develop learning modules about anthropology. We would like to pay these educators for their help, and you can help us do so!
