As a traditions-based center committed to our Catholic intellectual heritage, we welcome engagement and dialogue with all moral traditions as we grapple with the most pressing and complex questions of ethics, culture, and public policy today. We serve students, the academy, the Church, and the wider world through teaching, research, dialogue, and public advocacy.
The Center for Ethics and Culture is dedicated to serving Notre Dame students, encouraging them to explore the depth of the Catholic moral and intellectual tradition and giving them essential tools to engage the world beyond the university, through Sorin Fellowships, student internships, and lectures throughout the year. The CEC is the most prominent and energetic locus at Notre Dame for pro-life teaching, research, and advocacy, including support for the March for Life and the semi-annual Bread of Life dinners. Through our Mission Hiring Initiative, the Center helps Notre Dame identify and attract the best eminent and emerging scholars whose work draws upon, engages, and promotes the Catholic moral and intellectual tradition. Each year the Center hosts its interdisciplinary Fall Conference, the most important venue for truly fruitful dialogue and exchange among the world's leading Catholic thinkers, as well as those from other traditions, on pressing and vexed questions of ethics, culture, and public policy.
During this exciting time, we have the unique opportunity to earn a portion of a $1 Million! Make a $10 gift on Notre Dame Day (April 24 – 25), and receive 5 votes to cast. The total number of votes we receive decides our percentage of the $1 Million. Please vote for us!
