Chinese Culture Society

The Chinese Culture Society of Notre Dame also known as CCS is the official Chinese club under the Asian American Association. We are excited to announce our participation in Notre Dame Day, when the global Notre Dame family will come together to celebrate what each of us loves most about the University. This past year has been a massive success. We had the following activities: general meeting, performing in Asian Allure, Mid Autumn Festival, concession stand, collaborating with FASO for Halo-Halloween, Chinese New Year Hangout, Women’s Day Dinner with Student Government, and TSA Night Market. Soon, we will race our dragon boat with Japan Club and other AAA clubs in the Fisher Regatta! We are excited to collaborate very closely with the Chinese Department and provide opportunities for students to improve their language skills and overall help the Notre Dame Family understand Chinese culture and China better. We are asking for your VOTE to help us do that. Visit our Facebook page at facebook.com/ndccs to learn more about who we are and what we do.

Why are donations necessary?

With your help, we hope to become even more active as a club. We want to get CCS Merch. We want to launch a Big-little program with older students (Xue Zhang and Xue Jie) to help Freshman / younger students (Xue Di and Xue Mei) as they go throughout the year. These “families” will have separate events like going to the movies or getting dinner together. CCS would like to provide funding for these activities so that cost is not an issue. We want to have even more events! We want to have a Mid-Autumn Festival Study Break on the day of so that members can get together, eat mooncakes, and enjoy some s’mores. We want to get hotpot, yuanxiao (sweet dumpling), dumplings, etc. together. We want regular Chinese language masses. We want to eat 年夜饭 (meal before Chinese New Year). We want to launch our FIRST cultural show. We want to TRAVEL to CHINATOWN.
