Add your gift to support the Columbia University Center for Veteran Transition and Integration

The Columbia University Center for Veteran Transition and Integration is a university-wide, nationally-focused center of excellence that will have a direct and lasting impact on the issue of veteran transition and upward mobility by creating and providing access to the best-in-class tools and programming veterans need as they transition from active service to higher education and meaningful careers. To embark on that mission, the Center seeks funds for current use—to catalyze construction, renovations, and innovations that will enable the Center to move forward, both programmatically and physically.

Support veterans with attaining higher education and beginning meaningful careers!

Over the last decade, Columbia developed the most sophisticated and successful program for veterans transitioning from the military to higher education and the workforce. Columbia has successfully enrolled more veterans than all Ivy League schools combined, while maintaining a graduation rate above 90% and job and graduate school placement that equals Columbia’s non-veteran graduates. Veterans continue to face barriers reaching their potential in accessing higher education and beginning careers. By drawing on the lessons gained over the past decade, the Center will focus on ensuring veterans receive access to programming designed to maximize their potential in education and the workforce.

Why your support matters

The launch of the Center crystalizes Columbia’s national leadership role in supporting transitioning veterans with accessing higher education and beginning meaningful careers. Your gifts to the GS Dean's Discretionary Fund support the Center for Veteran Transition and Integration, helping the Center to develop and deliver educational programming through a national community of partner universities, employers, and veteran service organizations committed to facilitating veterans’ upward mobility. The intent is to align and integrate these institutions’ direct services with the mission, operations, and performance measures of the Center.
