In recent years the fund has supported tool box scholarships for incoming freshmen. The scholarship has grown significantly from 13 recipients in 2013 to over 100 recipients in the fall of 2015. With over 2000 enrolled students and 34 operating programs, the college has legitimate need for sustained, growing support. Tool costs for College of Technology programs can range anywhere from $100 to $6000! Tool box donations are especially important because they provide the necessary financial relief for outstanding freshmen to transition seamlessly into their technical training curriculum. These tools do not only set them up for success in college, they also ensure that these students will enter their professions with the tools of their trade in hand.
When you give to the Dean's Excellence Fund your are having a direct impact on student scholarships. Alumni donated more than $12,000 to the Dean's Excellence Fund during the 2015-2016 annual College of Technology campaign. Thank you for your support.
The Dean’s Excellence Fund is a great way to make an immediate and thoughtful impact on the College of Technology. This discretionary fund gives the dean the flexibility to direct support to areas where resources might be limited. The goal is to have a $50,000 fund balance that will allow the college leadership to respond to the unforeseen needs of ISU students and programs.
Contributions have been used to support students entering their programs by allowing them to buy needed items using the College of Technology Tool Box Scholarship.
