Description
Design, Build, Fly (DBF) is a student run organization focusing on teaching students the fundamentals of aircraft design. DBF is sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the aerospace industry's professional society. Each year the team competes against up to 100 other colleges and universities at an international competition hosted either by Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, KS or Raytheon Missile Systems in Tuscon, AZ.
Donations are applied to...
Building materials, upgraded electronics, better tools and tooling fixtures, and travel expenses.
Design, Build, Fly
Design, Build, Fly (DBF) is participating in it's first ever Notre Dame Day! Vote for DBF to support students interest in aerospace and remote controlled aircraft. Voting begins Monday April 18, and the live broadcast begins April 24 at 6:42 PM ET.
Why are donations necessary?
Each year the team tries to push the design of the aircraft. This requires use of advanced materials, such as carbon fiber. - which is more expensive. With more funds, the team can build more aircraft throughout the year, with goals to build an aircraft capable of winning the competition. Donations will also allow the team to bring more team members on the trip. Next year the competition is in Tuscon, AZ. This location generally limits the team to only bring the core members of the team, but with your donation, we could bring more members to help stimulate the team members' interests in the club and in the aerospace industry.
