The LIVE Notre Dame Day broadcast will kick-off at 18:42 pm ET (6:42 pm ET) on April 23rd at NOTREDAMEDAY.ND.EDU. The 29-hour broadcast will showcase Notre Dame stories from around the world, as well as live interviews, special musical performances, remotes, in-studio performances and surprise celebrity guests. For every undergraduate in our field course, UNDERC provides tuition, housing and transportation to and from Notre Dame, in addition to a competitive stipend. In all, support for each undergraduate costs $9000 per student. We also provide summer support for graduate students, including a summer stipend, housing, and a research budget, totaling $10,500 per student. Any assistance you provide this ND Day will help us achieve our mission of providing opportunity to conduct field research to both undergraduate and graduate students. Thanks!
Environmental Research Center (UNDERC)
The University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center (UNDERC) provides world-class destinations for environmental research, unsurpassed undergraduate education programs, and innovative graduate student training. UNDERC locations are unique pristine areas with exceptional facilities that permit descriptive studies and manipulative experiments. We strive to enhance our understanding of natural and human-altered environments that translate into better management and policy for the environment. We are excited to announce our participation in Notre Dame Day, when the global Notre Dame family will come together to celebrate what each of us loves most about the University.
Why are donations necessary?
UNDERC supports field-based research for both undergraduates (through our field-based course) and graduate students. UNDERC provides graduate fellowships so students can conduct groundbreaking research projects in a relatively pristine environment. We also support undergraduate research and education for motivated students from Notre Dame and other universities. We also promote STEM education by providing support for under-represented groups (specifically Native American and Puerto Rican students).
