When Columbians come together, extraordinary things can happen in a day’s time. Today, thousands of individuals from the Columbia University community—including you—will rally together to make an unprecedented impact through Columbia Giving Day. The generosity of our alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends is changing the lives of the future leaders of public health. Thank you!
Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health attracts top students from all over the world; men and women who have devoted their lives to public health, a field that one does not enter for financial gain. All of our students are graduate students, and an increasing number of them come to us with debt from their undergraduate years. Your support opens the door to a Mailman School education for a student who might otherwise have to turn down our offer of admission.
The Fund for Public Health Leadership provides outstanding Mailman School students financial support to cover tuition, fees, and living expenses. All donations to this fund support needs-based scholarship aid for Mailman School students. The need for aid is urgent: 85% of students apply for scholarship aid and 57% receive funding, and the average student graduates with $50,000 in debt.
