Personal Message

The Georgia Tech Spirit Program - comprised of Gold, White, & Navy Cheerleading Squads, Buzz Mascots, and Gold Rush Dance Team - is a highly visible and enthusiastic athletic group on campus. As ambassadors of the Institute and Georgia Tech Athletic Association, the spirit program is rich in history and tradition. Our primary purpose is to provide support by generating spirit and crowd involvement and represent Georgia Tech in a positive and uplifting manner during events, on campus, and in the greater Atlanta community.

Thanks To Our Supporters!

The Georgia Tech Spirit Program goals include

  • Raising $50,000/year to cover operational costs such as practice apparel and travel to camp and competitions
  • Purchase a new set of performance mats and transform a space in McCamish Pavilion into a Spirit Locker Room where our athletes can shower or practice and store their gear and equipment (where do you think those big flags go?)
  • Increase scholarship payouts while honoring legacies of those who have made tremendous impacts at Georgia Tech through participation in the Spirit Program
  • Scholarship Endowments

One of the best ways to ensure the financial stability of a program is to have endowed scholarships. Donors who create an endowed scholarship enjoy knowing their endowment will continue in perpetuity as well as the annual personal connection to the cheerleading program through the naming of a current student-athlete to their endowment. By contributing to an established cheerleading scholarship endowment, your dollars carry on the legacy of someone that made a lasting impact on the GT Spirit Program.

    Why are gifts encouraged?

The success of the spirit program at Georgia Tech is dependent on philanthropy. Cheerleading squads, dance teams, and mascots are hugely important in creating the collegiate game-day atmosphere; however, the NCAA does not suggest nor govern resources needed for these programs. Therefore, the variance is great between conferences and university programs. With your support, we can provide our student-athletes with the resources necessary to enhance the fan experience, attract top athletes, and compete at their highest potential while representing the Georgia Institute of Technology.
