USD Men's Club Soccer is one-third of the way to reaching our fundraising goal and we need your help to get there! In order to stay competitive within our West Coast Soccer Association division, and to qualify for the National Club Soccer Championships, we need your funding to continue our progress as a team. Our players pay a significant fee to be on the team, and the University's Associated Students board provides us with some money, but it is still not enough to cover our season's expenses. We greatly appreciate your donations, your generosity is extremely helpful to our club!
1. Scholarships for players. We spend a significant portion of our funds on scholarships for players who cannot afford the entry fee to play on the team. By doing this, we hope to gain talent for our team and to reach out to those passionate individuals, as money should never exclude anyone from playing this inclusive worldwide sport that is loved by so many.
2. Equipment. We are in need of funds for equipment such as balls, uniforms, and cones for use during practice and games.
3. Fees. We incur normal fees for field space for practices and games, and referee fees during games.
We need these donations to be able to compete in the National Club Soccer Championships this season, held in San Luis Obispo, CA. By purchasing new equipment, recruiting talented players with scholarships, and paying our fees for games and practices, we are preparing ourselves in the best way possible to compete in the national championship tournament. Additionally, our team dues and the funding that the University provides us only cover the regular season and does not cover our postseason travel expenses. We have been able to compete in the playoffs in years past, and we are well on our way this season already, with 2 wins, 1 tie, and 1 loss so far! We appreciate your support as we strive to compete at the highest level of Club Soccer!
