Why support the Notre Dame Archives?

The University Archives are more than just "deep storage." We actively collect, preserve, and make accessible primary documents related to the University and the Catholic Church in America. Our collections are used daily by students, faculty, administrators, scholars, alumni, genealogists, and the general public. Donations to the Notre Dame Archives help support these vast collections.

Preservation: Donations help us to buy archival supplies from acid-free folders and boxes to obsolete audio/visual equipment. These supplies are necessary to process collections and make them accessible to researchers.

Access: We are also digitizing a number of collections and publications for greater access. See what we've already been working on here: http://archives.nd.edu/digital

"Of all our national assets, Archives are the most precious; they are the gift of one generation to another and the extent of our care of them marks the extent of our civilization." Arthur G. Doughty, Dominion Archivist, 1904-1935
