Our Lady's Butterfly Garden
We are excited to announce our participation in Notre Dame Day, when the global Notre Dame family will come together to celebrate what each of us loves most about the University. We love the University, so we are hoping to create Our Lady's Butterfly Garden as a lovely tribute to Our Lady and a lasting gift to the Notre Dame Family. The proposed site of Our Lady’s Butterfly Garden is just steps from the Grotto, on the shore of St. Mary’s Lake near the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and Holy Cross Drive. The proposed design of the garden is approximately 20 ft. by 24 ft., with a 60 ft. hedge. Native plants have been carefully selected to nourish and attract butterflies and other pollinators.
Why are donations necessary?
Notre Dame's Class of 1976 hopes to raise sufficient funds to create Our Lady's Butterfly Garden at the Notre Dame Reunion in June, and to start building a permanent endowment fund for the care and maintenance of the butterfly garden.
