Sacred Music at Notre Dame educates individuals from birth through graduate school through the Notre Dame Children's Choir, college-level choirs for undergraduates and graduate students, and graduate degrees in Organ, Voice, and Conducting. Our mission is to train the whole person, child to adult, in the knowledge, appreciation, and practice of sacred music and to enliven our community with music, fellowship, and faith.
Notre Dame Day contributions to Sacred Music support the Notre Dame Children's Choir National CD Release Tour: “O Day of Peace.” The Chamber Choir will lead services and concerts in Bloomington, IN; Saint Louis, MO; Atchison, KS; Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee, WI; and Chicago, IL. “O Day of Peace” is the choir’s second commercially released album. The first album, “O Emmanuel,” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Traditional Classical Music Chart.
The Notre Dame Children's Choir and Organ Training Program are free to all children in the Michiana region. We currently educate over 200 children and invest over $1500 per chorister and organist annually. Your $10 donation and five votes worth an estimated $50 are a powerful way to support our programs and keep them free for all children. In addition to choral and organ music education, we commission new music from international composers, travel nationally, and provide transportation to and from our rehearsals for many choristers. The NDCC will sing for the 2017 National Pastoral Musician’s Conference this summer in Cincinnati.
