In keeping with the Jesuit, Catholic, liberal arts tradition, the school of psychology educates students in the science of behavior and mental processes with sensitivity toward the diversity of all people so students may use psychological knowledge and insight to address human concerns.
The donations you make are applied to supporting the students’ costs to present at research conferences (unless you specify another purpose).
A central component of Psychology is the scientific enterprise. Every year XU students disseminate their research to the scientific community at regional and national conferences. It was estimated that the total costs to our students who present any given year ranges between $25,000 and $35,000. Presenting at a conference rewards those who have generated conference-worthy research and paves the way for our students to be accepted into graduate programs and to secure internships, post-docs and employment. Please help these students who are trying to "help others" via the scientific method. Because the faculty of the School of Psychology believes so strongly in these efforts, they have personally pledged to match gifts up to $3,100.
