Help Steer the Course

Set Sail for Autism has charted its course for families impacted by autism and is ready to provide young adults with autism the opportunity to be part of a crew sailing yachts from Mackinac Island to Port Huron following the Chicago Yacht Club and Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race this July.

When you give to Set Sail for Autism, you impact the quality of life of individuals and families today and help set the course for their future. Engaging recreational and therapeutic programs such as Set Sail for Autism, soccer, swimming and martial arts offered by OUCARES( Oakland University Center for Autism's Outreach Services) encourage children and young adults to explore new experiences and make friends, skills that are difficult for individuals with ASD.

Be a compass now.

Starboard Support

Set Sail for Autism provides young adults with autism the opportunity to be part of a crew sailing yachts from Mackinac Island to Port Huron following the Chicago Yacht Club and Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race.

For participants, this lifetime memory is a unique chance to showcase their tremendous potential. For the community, the event shines a light on the importance of developing life skills and employment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

There is no cost to individuals with ASD to participate in the Set Sail for Autism program. However, there are costs associated with the event, such as lodging and travel for the participant and family.

Why are donations necessary?

At least one in every 68 children in the United States is diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Every year more families are impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders and will seek out support services such as those provided through OUCARES and the Oakland University Center for Autism.

Our mission for Set Sail is to have no cost to individuals with ASD to participate in Set Sail for Autism. Your donation today will help us continue to provide these services to the growing community.
