About 1842 Day

1842 Day is Villanova's first-ever day of giving. This is our opportunity to show pride and gratitude for the impact Villanova has on each of us, in our communities and around the world. Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends—let's make a difference TOGETHER!

Our Goal

We need your help to reach 1,842 donors in 1,842 minutes, between 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19 and 6:42 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20 (EDT). Whether you give $5, $175 or $1,842, your generosity will count toward achieving our goal.

Social Justice Documentaries

The Social Justice Documentary Film course gives students an opportunity to create documentary films that spotlight a contemporary social justice issue. Under the guidance of talented faculty, students write, film and produce documentaries about stories that need to be told.

Past films have shed light on the migration crisis in the Mediterranean, HIV/AIDS in Africa and students living with disabilities. Villanova student documentaries have won acclaim far beyond campus, including nominations for the Student Academy Awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Your gift on 1842 Day will support the continued success of this program!

Your Impact

Your contributions will result in more dollars for our students and programs, strengthen our national reputation and bolster the unprecedented success of For the Greater Great®: The Villanova Campaign to Ignite Change.
