About 1842 Day
1842 Day is Villanova's first-ever day of giving. This is our opportunity to show pride and gratitude for the impact Villanova has on each of us, in our communities and around the world. Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends—let's make a difference TOGETHER!
Our Goal
We need your help to reach 1,842 donors in 1,842 minutes, between 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19 and 6:42 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20 (EDT). Whether you give $5, $175 or $1,842, your generosity will count toward achieving our goal.
Special Olympics
Each year, Villanova welcomes more than 1,110 Special Olympics athletes, 400 coaches and 6,000 volunteers to campus for the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Fall Festival, the largest annual student-run Special Olympics event in the world!
Villanova students work year-round to put on this tremendous event which includes six Olympic-type sports—bocce, long distance running/walking, powerlifting, roller skating, soccer and volleyball—as well as Opening Ceremonies, Olympic Town and more. All housing and meals for the weekend are provided by Special Olympics Pennsylvania and Villanova University.
Your gift on 1842 Day will enable us to continue offering all competition and other opportunities free of charge to the athletes and their families, which allows everyone to experience the benefits of Special Olympics that extend well beyond the playing field.
