At Xavier, Undergraduate Research is a cornerstone of the student experience. By allowing students to work one on one with faculty members, students get to experience of becoming a practitioner of the discipline. In a chemistry class, for example, you learn about chemistry. In the research lab, you learn to be a chemist! And best of all, lifelong relationships are forged during these experiences, whether between fellow research students or between students and faculty mentors.
Creating a better and more inclusive undergraduate research experience. There are several initiatives in need of support, including summer research salaries for students, the Celebration of Student Research, the Xavier Journal of Undergraduate Research and travel grants to present results at regional and national conferences.
