Of the hundreds of brigade groups worldwide, the University of San Diego Medical Brigades chapter has been selected to be the eighth brigade to re-enter Ghana since the outbreak of Ebola. Over the course of eight days in June, we will be providing free primary health care to nearly 4,000 individuals across four communities. Though our time in Ghana is temporary, we hope to leave a lasting effect on the communites

With these generous donations, you will directly impact our current and future communities in need by helping us pay for:
~The time of both local and abroad physicians/dentists
~Medical supplies: from toothbrushes to shampoo, to cough and allergy pills, and local anesthetic for dental patients
~Domestic necessities for families: concrete floors to replace those of dirt/mud, latrines, toilets, etc.
~Our ability to travel and provide educational seminars for community members of all ages, reinforcing a society of learning, communication, and collaboration in all means related to health.

Why are donations necessary?
As an entirely student-run organization, team fundraising is essential to a brigade's success. With your help, we are not only able to physically arrive in-country and prescribe medications, we are able to provide intangible antidotes: knowledge, empowerment, and motivation, all of which catalyze a positively-changing community.
