The center’s mission is to create an open, friendly space in which veterans feel welcomed and to provide them with the guidance necessary to ensure a smooth transition back to school and eventually back into the workforce. Xavier has taken their value of caring for the whole person and empowered our Veterans to help their fellow Veterans; whether that is helping each other in the classroom and in studying, or helping Veterans in our city, or our Troops who are deployed. The center is focused on men and women for others; we are a leader in displaying that service, and we are an important part of our university's mission.
The Student Veteran Peer2Peer Mentoring program and the Student Veteran Advocate program. The Peer2Peer mentoring program connects incoming student Veterans with experienced and energetic current student Veterans to assist with the transition from military life to student life. The Student Veteran Advocate program places student Veterans in various campus offices (paid student employment) to develop initiatives that improve services and support for the student Veteran community at Xavier.
With your financial support, the Peer2Peer mentoring program and Student Veteran Advocate program can expand and thrive. In turn, this will provide support and countless opportunities for academic and career success to the entire Student Veteran community at Xavier.
