About Notre Dame Day...

The Wireless Institute is excited to announce our participation in the 3rd Annual Notre Dame Day on April 24-25. This day is an exciting time when the Notre Dame family comes together to celebrate and support what each of us loves the most about the University. The LIVE Notre Dame Day broadcast will kick-off at 18:42 pm ET (6:42 pm ET) on April 24 at NOTREDAMEDAY.ND.EDU. The 29-hour broadcast will showcase Notre Dame stories from around the world, as well as live interviews, special musical performances, remotes, in-studio performances and surprise celebrity guests. Please spread the word and help us earn votes! Follow the celebration on social media with #NDday.

How Donations and Votes Work...

During this exciting time, the Wireless Institute has the unique opportunity to earn a portion of the $1 Million Challenge Fund! Make a $10 gift on Notre Dame Day (April 24 – 25), and receive 5 votes to cast. The total number of votes we receive decides our percentage of the $1 Million. Please vote for us!

About the Wireless Institute...

Just about everyone has a smart phone, and we have all lost wireless connectivity in a metropolitan area, airport, or football stadium. Although the wireless industry is massive, it faces tremendous challenges in terms of meeting the exploding demand of data-hungry users and their mobile devices. Crowded environments today exemplify what the wireless experience will be like more generally if we do not find innovative ways to build better phones, to densify networks, and to more effectively utilize the radio frequency spectrum.

Notre Dame's Wireless Institute in the College of Engineering was created to tackle these challenges associated with crowded wireless; to boldly advance understanding and innovation of wireless technologies, policies, and applications to benefit society; and to be the most visible and impactful university wireless center in the world.

Our team of exceptional faculty, students, and staff pursue this vision by fostering industry/university collaborative research, leveraging multi-disciplinary perspectives, and building distinctive laboratory and testbed facilities. We train students in conducting research projects, securing intellectual property, and communicating research ideas through publications and presentations in leading journals and conferences in the field.

Benefits of Donated Funds...

Donated funds complement external research funding from government agencies and industry partners. They allow the Wireless Institute to pursue new initiatives, fill in gaps, and communicate to a broader audience. Funds allocated from Notre Dame Day 2016 will be used to expand industry collaborations and to develop intellectual property as well as policy studies not currently funded by external grants and contracts.
